Waynetown -- Perry Lee Hallett, 40, a native of Jackson Twp, Fountain Co, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville where he underwent a stomach operation 8 days ago. Death followed a severe coughing spell which he suffered early Wed. morning. Born Jan 1, 1912, Mr. Hallett was the son of Alva & Stella Hamm Hallett. he was married twice, first to Helen Smith in 1933. His second marriage was to Alice May Myers of near Waynetown May 30, 1941. Mr. Hallett was a member of the Alamo Methodist Church and Alamo Masonic Lodge. In recent years he had engaged in farming at the family home, 7 miles southwest of Waynetown. Previously he was a truck driver for the Farm Bureau Oil Co. six years. Surviving are the widow, two sons, William Lee and Jerrell Alva, both at hom e, the father, Alva Halett of Alamo and a brother, Leslie Hallett of near Wayentown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Alamo Christian Church, with burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour. Friends may pay their respects at the Grenard & Servies Funeral home. Rev. John R. Servies, assisted by Rev. Guy Tremaine and Rev. Noble Carothers will officiate. - kbz
